2 Bruner/Cott Projects Win BE+ Green Building Showcase Awards

On Friday, October 21st, we gathered in-person at the Charles River Speedway for a night of networking and celebration at the 2021 Green Building Showcase, hosted by our friends at BuiltEnvironment+.

We are thrilled to share that two Bruner/Cott projects received awards at the event!

The Swift Factory, a large-scale transformative reuse project in Hartford, CT received the Equity + Inclusion Award. The project reimaged a former gold leafing factory complex into a community hub and job incubator in a disinvested HUD Promise Zone community.

The Richard A. & Susan F. Smith Campus Center at Harvard University won the Health + Wellness Award. Sustainable features of the project that prioritize occupant health and wellness include its green walls/hydroponic interior landscapes, access to daylight and nature via an enormous open air-vitrine garden, and healthy materials selection on all 3,000 pieces of furniture specified for the project.

The event took place in the Garage B Event Space at the Charles River Speedway, a Bruner/Cott project that revitalized a former race track and police station into a vibrant open-air market and event space. Bruner/Cott Principal Jason Jewhurst, AIA, Associate Christopher Nielson, AIA CPHC LEED AP, and President of Architectural Heritage Foundation Sean McDowell presented a brief history of the project at the beginning of the event.

Thank you to BuiltEnvironment+ and all involved in organizing such a wonderful in-person event! Bruner/Cott is proud to have been a Platinum Sponsor for this year’s showcase and an annual sponsor to BE+.
