George Gard Named to BD+C ’40 under 40′

Congratulations to Associate George Gard, AIA, for being named to BD+C’s 2023 ’40 Under 40′!

This annual award recognizes 40 architects, engineers, contractors, and real estate developers based on career achievements, passion for the AEC profession, involvement with AEC industry organizations, and service to their communities.

George is an architect who brings a future-oriented design approach to the transformation of existing buildings and urban places—interests he has explored since his undergraduate and graduate work, and continues as an associate at Bruner/Cott Architects. George sees the evolution of reuse and transformation as vital to the future of the built environment and practice of architecture.

Through his work, George holistically considers the form, function, and impacts of architecture in a way that challenges categorical assumptions around design for buildings of all eras. George leads teams to develop tailored solutions to existing buildings across diverse program types to deliver meaningful, award-winning architecture.

George’s notable work at Bruner/Cott includes MASS MoCA’s Building 6 and James Turrell Skyspace, Frost Terrace, and the first phase of the Living Village at Yale Divinity School.
