Huntington East Wing Expansion

Projected to open in late 2027, the Huntington Theatre East Wing introduces a soaring, modern space that celebrates both performance and community. Spanning the first two floors of the adjacent residential tower, the theatre’s expansion includes lobbies, a box office, flexible performance areas, patron amenities, a bar/lounge/café, and an outdoor balcony overlooking the avenue. Fully accessible and highly transparent, the design projects the theatre’s energy and activity outward, inviting engagement from the street throughout the day and into the evening.

Conceived as a flexible, experience-driven environment, the East Wing supports a range of cultural, educational, and social programming. Public areas are designed to accommodate both formal performances and informal gatherings, seamlessly shifting between day- and nighttime uses. Warm, airy materials, dramatic lighting, and familiar architectural gestures create an inviting, human-scaled atmosphere, enhancing comfort and accessibility for all visitors.
